"Overall, Rasmussen Reports shows a 56%-43% approval, with a third strongly disapproving of the president's performance. This is a substantial degree of polarization so early in the administration. Mr. Obama has lost virtually all of his Republican support and a good part of his Independent support, and the trend is decidedly negative.
A detailed examination of presidential popularity after 50 days on the job similarly demonstrates a substantial drop in presidential approval relative to other elected presidents in the 20th and 21st centuries. The reason for this decline most likely has to do with doubts about the administration's policies and their impact on peoples' lives."
It is interesting to note that President Bush had a much higher approval rating at the same point in his presidency. Read the entire article here.

Empty rhetoric can only get you so far, eh?
Seriously though, the poll numbers here are fascinating. President Obama's approval rating has remained pretty constant, somewhere between 60 and 65 for the past few months. That's what all the papers and stuff will report. They don't account at all for the disapproval numbers, which have gone from 19 a couple of months ago to 30. That is a huge move.
I'm glad people are waking up to what this administration is peddling. Energy, health care and education are all important issues, but have little to nothing to do with the current economic situation and this administration's approach to these problems won't bring us out of it.
